I’ve always enjoyed sport as long as I can remember and trained in some fashion. Its always helped me get rid of excess energy and brought me so much enjoyment. I first become interested in the gym around 18. It became more and more part of my life eventually being my career path of personal training and instructing. Its allowed me to stay focused and battle mental health through tough periods in my life. Its allowed me to build confidence that I never had when younger and learn to love and respect my self more through building a body I’m happier with and continuously working on to be better. Its opened so many opportunities for me and allow me to pursue different careers. Recently, 18 months ago I joined the fire service but my love for training and training others has never gone. This is why it’s led me to wanting to open a fitness centre to allow me to give the same help and opportunity its given me over the years. I’m also passionate about helping others and its why I’ve done the work I have for so long and a gym allows me to help more people then ever in a time when we all need it. With public health at its worst ever, now more then ever people need help and guidance.
I have a big passion for bodybuilding as its such a unique sport. It’s not just a sport but an art form that allows you to build your physique into something special and I will carry on competing as this allows me to grow my skills at the highest level to help others, change their bodies and mind sets. I’ve done various sports over the years allowing me to grow many skills. I’ve competed at a good standard in athletics as a sprinter and middle distance runner working with international athletes and coaches so I’ve picked up some great knowledge in my younger years. I’ve trained to build strength and performance to build a solid base in sport. I’ve trained in the military and fire service as well as training others to pass fitness and physical tests preparing them for a career. I’ve worked in the fitness industry for over 12 years and helped numerous people with mental health issues due to opening up about my own.
I’ve spent my life stepping out my comfort zone and had some falls on the way but this skill and resilience is why I belive I’m a great trainer and coach as I can pass these skills on others to help them do the same and negate risks along the way.
So, fitness has helped me become who I am now and for so many reasons it’s saved my life in more ways then just one. It’s helped me be strong enough to fight off life threating illness and allowed me to overcome my own personal mental health battles. It’s also allowed me to have career opportunities and build confidence so I can build friendships and relationships. Be a strong person to help others in need that have suffered mental health or anxiety issues. I want a centre that can offer all these things to everyone, so i can help people become better to achieve goals, go down new career paths, Build confidence to find a partner or make new friends. Develope the love i have for fitness and bodybuilding.

From being around 16 years old, I’ve always enjoyed going to the gym and enjoyed keeping myself in shape. Around the age of 19, I felt a career change was needed and that’s when I decided to do my level 2 gym instructor course. From there I started doing one to one sessions whilst attending college to train as a personal trainer. I soon realised I enjoyed working on a one to one basis and building a strong connection with my clients. Over the years I’ve built a strong rapport with my clients and a level of trust where I have become part of their lives and they lean on my for support, not just in their training lives but in their day to day lives.
I wanted to expand my knowledge and specialise in Pre and post natal training as I felt this was a gap in the industry for a place where women felt safe to exercise whilst carrying their baby as well as post birth too. There is a lot of misconception around exercise and pregnancy and the do’s and dont’s, so I wanted to ensure ladies pre natal and post natal felt safe and confident in exercising.
The level of trust my clients put into me is extremely important to me and I feel a great deal of job satisfaction when I have a client come into see me for their training session and always leave feeling they have been able to offload in a safe place and always leave feeling more energised than when they came in. Part of my job as a coach is to not put a one size fits all package together but to listen to the needs of my clients and tailor it around how they are feeling that day. I’ve had clients come in and had a rubbish day at work and needed to let of steam. I’ve had clients go through extreme personal battles so sometimes a coffee and a stretching session is what that client will benefit more from. Being able to help my clients look and feel better in and out of their clothes mentally and physically is the best part, for me, of being a personal trainer.
